User Customizable Screenshot timeframe or on demand screenshot
It would be nice if users had the option to manually select the amount of time at which the platform creates a screenshot for each monitor, not all deployment run on unlimited data and must save precious data capacity where needed.
for example i just found myself in a situation where we are running deployments on 4g modems with 2gb data plans, for content delivery and monitoring. the screenshot runs every 30 seconds as long as your online and every 2 hours if you are offline and each screenshot is about 76 KB in zise. let's say you have 10…
4 votesThis is now available. No matter if you are online or not, screenshots of all Players are refreshed every 2 hours. If you open the details of a specific Monitor, then the specific Player will start uploading screenshots every 30 seconds, and 5 minutes after you leave that page, it will return back to uploading new screenshots every 2 hours.
This should severely reduce bandwidth since, in most cases, you do not need to go into that page. This way, traffic for screenshots should be reduced to less than 1MB per day.

Set a maximum duration per playslist/show
set a maximum duration per (sub)playlist or show, the user can not exceed this time.
for example : I have lot of playlists on a monitor.
the #1 show corporate video (the duration is automatic) and the others are managed by different services but they only have the ability to broadcast a message for 30 seconds.
We should be able to assign a maximum duration for each playlist
and keep control of the total duration of the broadcast loop.4 votesSub-Playlist Restrictions are here!
When you add a Playlist as an item in another Playlist, then a “Options” button appears. Click it will allow you set the Max-Time and/or Max-Items. The first will define the total Playback time allow for each iteration of that Sub-Playlist, while the second will restrict the number of items played back. When using any of the two options and a Playlist is interrupted, the next playback of the Playlist will be picked up from the next item.
These two can be combined to have the effect described by the original poster of the idea. Sub-Playlists are only available in the “Pro” and “Enterprise” plans, so you will need to be on that plan to use Restrictions for Sub-Playlists.
Combine with access rights and Workspaces, this can be ideal for managing distributed content managers that need to be limited on the total screen time!
Enjoy!

It would be great to be able to schedule an auto reboot. Some of my players need to be rebooted 2 or 3 times a week.
8 votesYou are now able to schedule a time of the day and days of the week to perform a scheduled reboot. This is available under the details of each player configuration through the Yodeck dashboard.

Ability to see where media is in use.
We would like to be able to see where content is in use. With multiple screens & users, we provide content for their use but do not know if it is copied/used in their playlists or shows. Being able to see that piece of media is in use would be helpful.
1 voteThis is already available! If you click to see the details of a Media, and you scroll all the way down, you will see a link saying “See where this Media is being used”. Clicking it will show you a report of where this Media is being used.
Let us know if you nee anything more than that!

Dynamic playlist length calculation
When adding multiple media to a playlist it would be nice to have a box / indicator stating the total duration of the playlist itself
6 votesThis was released last week! You now see the total duration of a playlist as you edit it!
Existing videos don’t have the length information required, but new videos you upload will have that information, so they will be added correctly to the total duration in a playlist.

more widgets and allow to make your own custom html ones
allow for custom made html widgets that draw data from webpages
1 voteYou do have the ability to create your own Custom Widgets based on HTML.
Check out our guide here: https://www.yodeck.com/docs/display/YO/Custom+Widget+Developer%27s+Guide
We plan to provide a Widget marketplace down the road so that people creating Widgets can share them with other Yodeck users.
Closing this as “Completed” since this already exists.

WIFI - on site manual choosing by client or technician
Option to manually enter WIFI name and password directly to "Player". This would be really appreciated.
e.g.: Client connects keyboard and mouse. After pressing some keyboard shortcut(e.g. ALT+W) graphic window will pop up and allow to choose wifi and set password.
32 votesTook us a while, but this is now available. You can hit Ctrl+F12 and configure the WiFi connection on screen. Exact instructions will be made available shortly here: https://www.yodeck.com/docs/display/YO/9.2.2+Configuring+your+WiFi+network+by+using+the+Player%27s+WiFi+wizard

Add the ability to place Layouts in a Playlist
This would really be the icing on the cake, as far as flexibility is concerned.
For example, if I have a clock widget it is a set colour for the entire show, so if the background changes to a similar colour (and the widget's background is transparent), it becomes invisible.
Being able to add shows to a playlist would cure this, and enable other things that multiple layouts would bring.
251 votesOur most requested feature is now here! You can now add Layouts in a Playlist!! Hurrayyy!!
It was quite challenging, but we managed to deliver what all of you have requested! For adding a Layout in a Playlists, you should use 2GB, 4GB or 8GB Players. Basic 1GB Players might work, but the experience might not be as smooth as with units with more RAM.

Adding add/remove buttons to the top of the media pages.
Instead of having to scroll down the page to add media to any category, like images, it would be convenient to have the buttons at the top of the page as well.
3 votesButtons are sticky now, no matter where you have scrolled the page! Hope this make Yodeck even more easy to use!

Vpn connectivity
Would be nice to have an option for outgoing IPSEC or sstp vpn connectivity to a custom vpn server.
Reason for this : Multiple installations across client sites, network monitoring (device ping would be great) and ssh login without need from customer site network reconfiguration or port forwarding.
2 votesWe already provide this option to our Partners! You can setup an OpenVPN-based VPN connection to an online server, and this can be automatically configure to all devices in your partner account.
Reach out through this form for more details on how to become a Yodeck partner:

Increase frequency of monitor status
More frequent monitor status updates. Currently seems to be very hour, which is too infrequent.
7 votesPlayer status is now updated when you enter the Monitor details page, and we have also added an option to explicitly refresh the Status using the “Refresh” button in the “Status” tab of the Monitor details.

I am closing this as completed, since the release of half the request is imminent.

Twitter widget?
Is there a plan to add social media widgets? I saw someone post an idea for a widget store but if a default twitter widget were available that could be very useful. Mentions on one display and a complete twitter feed on the other would be ideal.
28 votesThe Twitter widget is out and ready to roll!
Feel free to log in to your Yodeck account and create this awesome widget!

add more detailed status of downloading show.
Seeing that a new push is downloading is great, but it would be nice to see more detail - MBs remaining, time remaining, percentage to 100%, etc.
8 votesWe now provide the content status of your Players. You can see through the Portal if a Player is downloading, is up to date, or outdated (e.g. when being offline), scheduled to download, etc. This provides more confidence, so that you know that Players have been updated even if they got offline, and that the Push went through fine to all Players.
This will be available to all Users in our upcoming release, scheduled for April 12th, 2019.

Fix Transparency in Playlists for Video and PDF Content
Playlists that contain media of various aspect ratios inevitably have empty space when the content is scaled to fit.
With images, the extraneous space is transparent, which looks great. For videos and PDFs, the empty space is filled in black. This doesn't look so hot. This is the only major issue we're waiting on to roll out now, so a fix would be very much appreciated when possible.
Thanks.
3 votesThis fix has been released! Videos now respect the Transparency setting, even if changing aspect ratio.
