integrate facial recognition cameras on yodeck
Good morning, I wanted to know if it is possible to integrate facial recognition cameras with your software? for advertisements?
7 votesWe are considering to add this feature to Yodeck.
Specifically, you will need to add a web camera or a Raspberry Pi Camera and use Google Coral, a USB AI module that does analytics and demographics of viewers. Total additional cost for hardware per screen would be something around $100. And you would get a) reports on number of viewers and demographics, b) triggers to change content based on demographic groups (e.g. ads targeting males over 50).
We love this feature, but, to be honest, it is a bit down the road, likely for Q1-Q2 2020. Hope you stay on board to see it getting released!

Play ads based on CPM
Allow us to set a specific number of times an ad will play. For CPM we sell ads based on the 1000 impressions. With your system I am only able to put it up based on date, not number of times it plays.

Add the possibility to show media from a local USB flash device, so I could change images or videos that could be reproduced from a specific folder

RSS text box for defined period of time
An RSS feed that does not need to scroll. A widget that would post the content in a text box for a defined period of time, then move to the next piece of content in the RSS.
ie. Text 1 in a box for 15seconds, then Text 2 in the same box for 15 seconds, then Text 3 etc.

Add presentation functionallity with user input
Allowing a user to interact with the displayed content through a remote control. (sliding presentation/pictures or interacting with webapplications)
Interaction can be a great tool for marketing purposes.
- Support for USB-Bluetooth receiver
- Abillity to disable RC from customer portal
- Abillity to programm RC-Action ("programable buttons")
I wouldn't mind to buy supported hardware of yours.

I’d like to have tag filtering in the “Playlist Details” page to aid in playlist creation. I have both vertical and horizontal media tags set up. Filtering by the tag will minimize errors in picking media in the wrong aspect radio versions

Add 12 hour display option to Calendar Events Feed Widget
Currently, the Calendar Events Feed Widget doesn't offer a 12-hour time format option and defaults to 24 hour format. This is not consistent with the clock widget and is confusing when both are on screen at the same time.

GPIO support
We have Beamer they not hear on the CEC Command, they have only a Interface for Relais for commands, is there a way to use the gpio's to trigger 2 Relais on schedule start and at the end to off? At this time we have there 2 Raspberrys. One for Yodeck and one for a time based solution but in one device it would be great :D

Style Ticker with css
The ability to style ticker (expecially rss one) with Css. Also including Google Font through css
6 votesRight now, the ticker is generated via a Python drawing library and the images are scrolled using the GPU. We plan to change this to HTML-based drawing of the ticker. We could then add an option for providing custom CSS styling for the text. I guess this should work fine for you.

Let us send my browser content to a yodeck monitor by one-click
I want to control a number of Yodeck monitors by sending my browser content directly to the monitor. Best with one-click or by using natural speech commands.

Playlist: import only the files that are not yet present, to avoid duplications.
You can select all the files in a folder and import. But when you add a lot of files to a folder and you want to add only those in the playlist it becomes laborious to look for them one by one.
6 votesWe have released a new feature called Tag Playlists. You assign Media with Tags and then you can create dynamic Playlists using combinations of Media Tags. Then, when you upload a Media, you also add the required Tags, so that they get pulled into the Tag Playlists.
That might work in your case.
In the long run, we are also planning to provide Folder-based Playlists, so that all Media in the specific Folders are automatically included in a Playlist.

Support video with an alpha channel (transparency) so that one video can frame some other content
I want to be able to use one video with an alpha channel as a "frame" and overlay it on top of another video that is the main focus.
For now, I'm simply layering the one video on top of the other, but that means that there are really hard edges at the edge of the video.
6 votesFirst, we are planning to support multiple videos playback (a whole different request).
Now, concerning alpha-channel in videos, I think this is a firmware issue of the Raspberry Pi. Thee is a way to have a mask, but again no alpha channel beyond that mask.

Media tags shared with monitors for conditional scheduling
It will great to have monitors share tags assigned to all media assets. So each media can have one or more tags like "Global" and "SFO Office" and the option to choose partial or exact match.
Then on your Monitors you select how the player will be tagged based on the available media tags.
This allows to have a single playlist with content for multiple locations and only the monitors matching the tags assigned to the media will play that asset. I have seen this functionality on other signage platforms and the scheduling much more easier than having to manage…6 votes -
Expiry date
a date when an image will expire and be removed from the playlist.

This however does not remove Media from Playlists. There might be a need to remove expired Media from Playlists without deleting it. So, I am leave this to be reviewed and to gather more traction.

Rotate Content on the Show building
It will be nice to rotate the frames on the design of the show, not only horizontal or Vertical.

hidden menus when user hasn't rights
hide menus when a user does not have permission to access them instead of having the menu displayed with the message "you do not have rights to access them"

Would it be possible for you to email up and coming firmware updates (with changelog) and scheduled maintenance to the portal please?

We do post an in-app notice for downtime of the Yodeck portal usually 24-48 hours in advance. We are planning to create a Status Page as well that will include a detailed health report of our platform along with scheduled maintenance notices, suing statuspage.io, which provides something like this: https://status.dropbox.com/
Also, we are planning to include some sort of in-app message center that will also include changelog notices and other important messages that users might need to read.
Hopefully, both the Status Page and the in-app message centre will be available within this year.

Live Currency Exchange Widget
I am looking for a currency widget, which would show live exchange rates of a select currency vs others. It would be good if the others could be chosen but not essential - as long as the usual key ones are listed (GBP, USD, EUR etc.).
I appreciate I could just live list a webpage from a currency website but i think it could be a really useful and cool widget.
Is anyone able to help?

Show last time content was pushed to a player
In the dashboard it shows the content as "update", but this does not say anything when it was updated last.
It would be great if it would say what date/time the content was updated last, so it is easy to verify if the available content is up-to-date6 votes
