Enable user-agent modification

I'm writing a ddns javascript widget. It's working, but my ddns provider prefers that a custom user-agent header is sent with the http request.

At present, changing this is denied by the browser. Could it be enabled, please?

        Hi,

I'm looking forward to trying it. Chrome generally blocks it though - you get 'Refused to set unsafe header "User-Agent"'.

You can set a custom user agent in the Chrome dev tools, but I don't know if it's possible to enable javascript to set it in code.
