Adding Feature to "Counter Up/Down" Widget
It would be really nice to add another "Counter Type"; something like "Specific Time". For instance, I'd like to have a Layout that starts running 30 minutes before the start of an event where it shows a countdown timer. Rather than specifying the date and time, just specify a duration, so it starts the specified countdown when the widget is initiated. This would allow the widget to be used as many times as needed without having to change the date and time for each event.

Allow for USB Mass Storage / Boot
It would be good to allow for USB mass storage access. I have about a TB of 4k videos I would stream to a number of boxes and an SD card isn't the best way to deliver it. Plus if I can boot off an SSD drive vs a SD drive the read performance will be much improved.

Copy content to new ratio
When creating a new ratio it would be nice if the content from the exiting ratio was copied in. That way you could then just move it around to suit without having to start again.

Add Reboot To Schedules
I know you can auto reboot system once per day at anytime you want , but I run a lot of web pages that are cached into the system without refreshing so would be nice to free up memory on auto reboots a few times a day. Thanks

Monitor Page..One Click Turn Off And Reboot
On the monitor page just add 2 more boxes "Turn off Monitor" and "Reboot". I hate that we have to now go to monitor page then click edit then click these options too much clicking. Thanks You

Add Schedules Inside Layouts
Say you have a layout with 4 quadrants , each quadrant should be able to run a schedule , it is very common on many of your competitors , I would get this done, one of only things you do not have.

Custom Broadcast message with custom time expiring
I like to use the customer broadcast message for internal messages as it might happened. not everything might be an emergence. Example: when we have a schedule downtime for a server, I would like to use the boradcast message feature to display a message on the screens, but not have the title read "EMERGENCY" which is what it does now. I would like the title of the broadcast message to be what the name of the alert is and currently is has preset duration. 1,2,4,5,12 hours. Would like to be able to put in the time when the message expires.

Remote PC viewing
Would it be possible to make the Pi a VNC viewer? The use case for this could be for presentations or demos where a PC desktop is required, a PC can have the VNC server broadcasting a (view only) stream of its desktop. The Pi can then view this stream?

Preload / Buffer live streams before switching to them
When I have live youtube streams in my playlist, it takes 7-15 seconds to load each stream and dumps out to black until the stream loads. Is it possible (with new Pi4 mem?) to preload live streams (and any other slow loading net components) so that when it gets to one in the playlist it can cut straight to it (after it has loaded?) I could also suggest this would be true when loading shows as well, just better preloading content before unloading everything first (if possible of course!)

Support NFC tag with URL redirect
I have seen another solution where you can put an NFC tag on the monitor. Then when you tap the tag it sends to to a website, but the website changes based on the content.
Basically think of this, the NFC tag is a short url, but the short url changes what it points to based on whats on the screen. Basically each piece of media would have a url field. Great anytime you want to send content to a customers phone.
So like tap here to get a coupon for whats on the screen.

More customizable admin roles
Allow more roles to be created for administration roles (creating/managing users, creating/managing workspaces, etc) without having to give full administrator role to the user account.
Here's my use-case:
I want to be able to create a "user admin" that can create/delete user accounts.
I want to create a different role where I can grant access to any current and future workspace without having to go grant them specific access every time a new workspace is created.9 votes -
