  3. Info for used media in playlist

It would be great to see what media are being used in the playlist. View the upload date and if it is in use, but in the playlist section.

A while back, we added this option but we forgot to update you! Sorry! When you click on a Media and you go into the editing form, at the bottom you can find a “See where this video/image/webpage/etc is being used” link. If you click it, it will show you a report of where this Media is being used.

The nice touch is that we did this for all items, including Playlists, Shows and Schedules. So, you can go to a Playlist, and clicking this link will show you if this Playlists where it is being used in Shows, Schedules or Monitors.

    Enjoy!

You can now change the resolution, refresh rate and color depth (16/32-bit) using menus in the settings of each Player! Much easier.

    Enjoy!

PS: For doing advanced stuff, like configuring a custom resolution using CVT timings, you still need to do it using Raspberry Pi config.txt directives.

We now support USB 3G/4G/LTE USB dongles out of the box. We added a whole new tab in the “Monitor” details that allows you to configure everything that has to do with mobile broadband dongles.

If you face any difficulties getting it to work with your dongle, please connect your Player using a wired ethernet and reach out. We will then troubleshoot remotely.

  8. Instagram Social Wall for posts tagged to a location or selected hashtags.

A social wall widget for Instagram would be a great feature. It would be nice to pull from users Instagram photos which are location tagged to the outlet or that use particular hashtags.

Starting today, we will shipping out our newest Yodeck 4K Player, based on the Raspberry Pi 4 hardware! With the Raspberry Pi 4, we fully support 4K resolution, and soon we will also support 4K video decoding!

On Thursday Nov 7th 2019, we are updating our Yodeck Portal, so that users can choose between the standard Yodeck 4K Player (RPi4) with 1GB of RAM or the 4GB version that allows for more complex layouts and heavy data web dashboard! Check it out on Thursday!

  15. Asset Expiration

I realize this has been submitted before (goo.gl/hblJRN), but after talking through the issue with support I was encouraged to submit it again for a second look.

It would be extremely helpful to have expiration dates for assets. I understand YoDeck's push is for this to happen through Schedules. As a user I would make use of Schedules to push Shows at certain times of day or cycle in seasonal Shows (such as a Christmas-themed variant). However, with the amount of assets we potentially need to change, Schedules do not seem to be a sustainable solution.

  16. Container clip for random media

It would be great to have a container item to add into playlist for play random videos. For example a container with promotional clips or ads.
The idea is to play 1 random clip and then next media in my playlist.
    Example:

    • Logo
    • General info
    • Container (1 random ad from folder "my-ads")
    • Product clip
    • Container (1 random promo from folder "my-promos")
    • ... and so on

Random Playlist and Sub-Playlist Restrictions are here!

You can now set Random Playback for any Playlist; just go into the Playlist detail and active the Random toggle. Then, each Playlist will be played back in random order, making sure that all items are played at least once on every Playlist iteration.

We also released Restrictions for Sub-Playlists. When you add a Playlist as an item in another Playlist, then a “Options” button appears. Click it will allow you set the Max-Time and/or Max-Items. The first will define the total Playback time allow for each iteration of that Sub-Playlist, while the second will restrict the number of items played back. When using any of the two options and a Playlist is interrupted, the next playback of the Playlist will be picked up from the next item.

All three can be combined to have the effect described by the original poster of…

We have released support for audio assets! Here are the details:

    1) you can upload audio files as a new Media type
    2) you can use audio files within regular Playlists – when an audio asset is played back within your Show (added on the Show layout editor) nothing will show up on your screen (just like using the “Empty” special item)
    3) there is an additional field just below the Show editor that allows you to specify a “Background Audio” Playlist — all Media in this Playlist (including video files, audio files, web pages with audio) will not appear on screen, so you will only get the audio track from these. If tyou use this field, then all Media added normally in the Show layout editor will be muted.

This way, you will be able to split audio and video content effectively! Check out more in our announcement: https://www.yodeck.com/news/software-update-audio-files/

You will now have the ability to add Playlist as items in other Playlists.

Please note that this feature will be part of our new subscription plans, which will be announced shortly and enforced by end of Q1-2018. Until then, you can use this feature for free!

  20. Dynamic playlists and media tags

Dynamic Playlists and Media Tags. (1) Ability to add "tags" to media. (2) Ability to define a playlist as: All Media with the tags: (LIVE) and ((Building-Main) or (Building-All)).

That way just adding a tag on media would push new content out to monitors. Likewise, removing the LIVE tag (in this example) would remove media from playlist.
