Make an automatic backup of our account with all playlists, settings.
Make an automatic backup of our account with all playlists, settings. (once a day, once a week). This will help to fix any situation if someone accidentally deleted the necessary videos, changed the settings.
3 votesWe do take backups internally. Any file deletion is scheduled to be purged after 90 days. So, effectively, we can manually recover a complex account, or a specific section of the account, within 90 days.
However, providing this as a feature would be quite complex, as it would require to handle handling backups from older versions of the system and import them into the current version.

Identify monitor feature
I would love to see some sort of "Identify monitor" feature.
This could potentially put an on-screen overlay on some or all monitors which will identify either the name of the monitor, or the monitor ID.
We found that when rolling out some new monitors in bulk, some SD cards got mixed up, and the monitor ID was incorrect, so we had to change individual monitors to a generic image, and then change the name in Yodeck.
A feature like this would allow us to know which monitor is where.
If this were implemented, I'd like to see an option…
2 votesThere is now the “Player Basic Info” Widgets which allows you to do just that! Check it out!

Dropbox Integration
Direction integration with DropBox for Playlists.
33 votesDropbox Playlists are now available for all accounts!
When adding a new Playlist, you now have the option to create a Playlist linked to a folder in your Dropbox! Items you place in that folder are automatically synced. After the items finish uploading, it might take 5-20 minutes to see the changes on your screen, depending on the site and type of your content (we convert them to make sure it works on your screen).
You can use all file types supported by Yodeck, including Images, Videos, Documents and Audio files.
You can read more here: https://www.yodeck.com/docs/display/YO/6.4+Dropbox+Playlist
Enjoy and make sure you send over feedback to our support team!

Live preview needed
Live preview of what is currently showing on a given monitor would be very helpful (not random screenshots). Otherwise one must physically go to the monitor to see what is showing/how widgets are rendering.
116 votesWe now provide the ability to Preview a Layout or a Playlist right inside your Yodeck account, without having a device!
Most of the Media types will work out of the box (Videos, Images, texts, shapes, and more), while some types of content will be emulated in order to display how the content will look like when shown on a screen! Web Pages might not work, but this is something we are working on and eventually will come! Enjoy!

Sync Multiple Pi's timing to allow Full-Res videos to be coordinated over multiple TVs.
A way to sync multiple Raspberry Pi's for coordinated video over multiple monitors using their full resolution.
25 votesThis is now available! You can sync Playlist playback, even between different Playlists and different Players! As long as the duration is (almost) the same and at least one Image is included in each synced Playlist, then playback will be synced perfectly – especially useful for digital menu-boards, take-over videos, or other screens mounted side-by-side.
You can find more information here: https://www.yodeck.com/docs/display/YO/6.+Playlists#id-6.Playlists-SyncedPlayback

Adding image icon for Custom widgets.
At present, there is only an icon option for custom widgets. It would be great if we can add custom images as icons for our custom widgets like the image icons of default widgets.
17 votesYou can now upload a thumbnail image as well as previews/screenshots for your Custom Widgets!
We are planning to launch a complete marketplace down the road, so make sure you build beautiful widgets that everyone can use!

TV On/Off Schedule
Schedule monitors to turn on and off automatically.
4 votesThis is already available in Yodeck! You need to create a Schedule and use the special Show called “Turned Off”. This will turn off your screen. You can read more on our manual here: https://www.yodeck.com/docs/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=15171710

Play subplaylist items as a round robin
I have a customer that needs this functionality for its digital marketing displays. The have a several customer, each customer (a brand) can have one or many images/videos. They need to have a playlist with all subplaylist for each brand and play one spot per each brand after the other, so I would play first image for brand 1, brand2 and brand3, then second image fron brand1,brand2, brand3 and then third image for brand1, brand2 and since brand3 only have one image It would play again image1 for brand 3.
Something like a round robin queing for the images. This…
9 votesSub-Playlist Restrictions are here!
When you add a Playlist as an item in another Playlist, then a “Options” button appears. Click it will allow you set the Max-Time and/or Max-Items. The first will define the total Playback time allow for each iteration of that Sub-Playlist, while the second will restrict the number of items played back. When using any of the two options and a Playlist is interrupted, the next playback of the Playlist will be picked up from the next item.
These two can be combined to have the effect described by the original poster of the idea. Sub-Playlists are only available in the “Pro” and “Enterprise” plans, so you will need to be on that plan to use Restrictions for Sub-Playlists.
For the requirement of the original poster of this suggestion, it is now straightforward to set 1 item per sub-playlist.
Enjoy!

Ability to see where media is in use.
We would like to be able to see where content is in use. With multiple screens & users, we provide content for their use but do not know if it is copied/used in their playlists or shows. Being able to see that piece of media is in use would be helpful.
1 voteThis is already available! If you click to see the details of a Media, and you scroll all the way down, you will see a link saying “See where this Media is being used”. Clicking it will show you a report of where this Media is being used.
Let us know if you nee anything more than that!

In Google Calendar fallback
In Google Calendar it would be nice to have an option to make some sort of fallback
If using Google calendar and there are no internet it could show an image generated of the calendar every day.1 voteWe already provide the fallback mechanism using an image. This is just to show that the calendar that was supposed to appear, could not be loaded.
We are planning to provide better calendar support through custom designed Widgets in the near future, so this could be addressed there. In the mean time, I am marking this suggestion as completed, since we already provide a fallback image option. If you feel this is not sufficient, please reach out.

Allow Physical Address Instead of Coordinates for the Location of the Player
Most of the time, the unit detects a location "close" to where it is actually installed, but I would like to be able to add an address to notate the actual address of the player.
10 votesWe have completed this a few releases back! You can now search for an address and chnage the location of your player based on that.

Google Fonts and image perspective support
I think it would be cool to add support for Google Fonts. Allowing the devices to use the font library provided by Google.
The other "idea" I have is, I think another cool feature would be to allow images to be adjusted for perspective (skew). This would allow images to be adjusted to fit within backgrounds with angled frames (like a billboard for example)
Thanks for your consideration of these features!
7 votesJust wanted to share a quick update. For quite some time, you can upload your own fonts for texts in Layouts or Widgets. Here is more info:
https://www.yodeck.com/docs/display/YO/11.10+Custom+FontsConcerning “skew”, I think that goes way beyond the point of the Layout Editor. We will not be implementing such an advanced editing operation.

Let us change network settings on the RaspberryPi using the RaspberryPi and not another device via the settings.txt file.
Give us the ability to access basic set up of the system settings on the RaspberryPi. Instead of making us need to use an additional system to edit the Settings text file. This will make it less of a hassle if I move the RaspberryPi from on location to another and need to change the network settings.
1 voteYeap, this is now available! You can scan for wiFi networks and connect easily. You can even edit the raw SETTINGS.txt file right there! No need to have a SD card reader anymore to configure network stuff!

Support Vimeo
There are two major video platforms in the world: YouTube and Vimeo. One is preferred by professionals for its emphasis on quality over quantity, but Yodeck only supports the other one. Implementing Vimeo support is just as easy as implementing YouTube support and would make Yodeck a more viable option for professional marketers whose video content is already on the Vimeo platform.
14 votesWe now support Vimeo as a source for Videos!
