Container clip for random media

It would be great to have a container item to add into playlist for play random videos. For example a container with promotional clips or ads.
The idea is to play 1 random clip and then next media in my playlist.
Example:

  • Logo
  • General info
  • Container (1 random ad from folder "my-ads")
  • Product clip
  • Container (1 random promo from folder "my-promos")
  • ... and so on

Random Playlist and Sub-Playlist Restrictions are here!

You can now set Random Playback for any Playlist; just go into the Playlist detail and active the Random toggle. Then, each Playlist will be played back in random order, making sure that all items are played at least once on every Playlist iteration.

We also released Restrictions for Sub-Playlists. When you add a Playlist as an item in another Playlist, then a “Options” button appears. Click it will allow you set the Max-Time and/or Max-Items. The first will define the total Playback time allow for each iteration of that Sub-Playlist, while the second will restrict the number of items played back. When using any of the two options and a Playlist is interrupted, the next playback of the Playlist will be picked up from the next item.

All three can be combined to have the effect described by the original poster of the idea. Random playback is available under all plans. Sub-Playlists are only available in the “Pro” and “Enterprise” plans, so you will need to be on that plan to use Restrictions for Sub-Playlists.

    All of my advertisers like to run numerous ads within their space. It doesn't mean ALL 10 ads from one client should run right in a row. help.

    This is a great idea, we have a collection of motivational quotes we rotate out manually would love that to be automated and randomly pick one out of the tagged collection on each iteration of the playlist.

    When I build a Playlist, I need the function:
    Just pic one element with the tag "example"

    I don't want to have a tag based playlist inside a playlist, just a random element from one tag.

    As part of this request it would be nice if I could play X number of items or all Items in a Tag playlist vs all Items with that tag. Use case would be I have a group of images with the same Tag of say IT Security Posters/Images and I want to randomly show 2 out 50 in a folder each time the playlist is requested.

    Ability to have a slide show of random photos from zzz folder and play for xxx minutes.
    This would allow me to play a video or two - then some photos - then back to the videos... Then show some more of the random photos.
