Would be awesome to be able to receive monitor status alerts via Pushover. Would be pretty simple to implement. User would enter their key and then they would receive notifications for all monitors on their account. This would be especially useful for me as a reseller.7 votes
We plan to provide for more complex notifications settings. This will include mobile app notifications (not sure if it is going to be Pushover or our own app), custom email notifications, even SMS notifications.
At present, changing this is denied by the browser. Could it be enabled, please?4 votes
Tomorrow, we are releasing Chrome support for Custom Widgets. Would that work for you?
Nevertheless, this is a valid request to be considered.
Moving from One Playlist to another in a schedule is not very clean right now. If the system can either pre-load the next playlist so that it behaves like a new clip, or hold a pre-defined slide so that the screen does not go black between changes.9 votes
We have started working on this! Content transitions, either when pushing updated content or when changing content due to scheduling, will be dynamically loading, so content won’t go through that balck screen!
Social Media Wall widgets for all the main social media sites will be key...even better, a social media feed aggregator!! I'd like a google calendar widget...a free form static box text widget would be great as well.32 votes
We will be gradually adding Widget. For sure, it will include social feeds.
Broadcast an immediate message on all screens or a group of screens.11 votes
Although it sounds interesting, this feature needs refinement.
In the new version to be released this week, we do have a text Widget. You could add this text Widget to all Shows on top of all other content. You would set it to transparent background and do not type anything. Then, when ever you wanted to sent a message, you would edit the Widget, type the message, and push to all devices. But would this suffice as an “emergency broadcast”?
If you are interested in this feature, please leave more comments and discuss further.
We have Beamer they not hear on the CEC Command, they have only a Interface for Relais for commands, is there a way to use the gpio's to trigger 2 Relais on schedule start and at the end to off? At this time we have there 2 Raspberrys. One for Yodeck and one for a time based solution but in one device it would be great :D
Best wishes6 votes
If you want to use this for turning the beamer on/ and off, then you can create a custom power script. Whenever the “Turned Off” special Show is used, you would set the GPIO pin accordingly. Here are the details: https://www.yodeck.com/docs/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=327908
Overall, we plan to provide access to GPIO pins through Custom Widgets, so we are keeping this idea as accepted,
Onscreen keyboard widget to interact with items on you display3 votes
Yodeck has limited support for interactivity. Right now, you can build and upload HTML5 apps as Widgets, but they must not be placed as overlays in order for them to be interactive. Same goes for Web Pages.
An on-screen keyboard would be a nice addition. Given that this would require a touch screen, we would also have to implement an easy way to setup and calibrate touchscreens (can be done).
We are marking this feature as Accepted and we will see down the road how things progress.
Would like ability to do basic effects like crossfades between images in a playlist. I can do this by making a video of slides and that works great, but a feature like this would be better.225 votes
Implementation of transitions has progressed as planned! We know that this is an important feature for all of you receiving this message, so we want to provide a quick update on this and share that we will likely make this available to all users on our next release scheduled for June 19th!
Our work is targeting to provide beautiful and butter-smooth image-to-image transitions, beside standard stuff like cross-fade, fade-through-black. If you are interested to test a beta when it is available, please reach out!
After we release that, we will then start investigating Video transitions as well, so that you can have transitions between Video and Images. But this is a whole new chapter. We will likely focus this suggestion exclusively on image-to-image transition.
When it changes from one show to another we go to black screen, it would be nice that the user can setup its own background instead of Black, could be colors or images.22 votes
Turns out that setting a solid color background or setting an image as a background is easy. We will provide this option soon.
Adjust Sound of video clips to the same level, this will be helpful when you insert several music videos for example from youtube, so you get similar or same level of all videos.5 votes
Audio normalization could be implemented in two levels:
1) provide a volume slider in each video entry, so that you can differentiate volume per Media
2) normalize volume for all Media
Both ways are right now unknown, and we have not had enough testing to say if any of the two is feasible. As soon as we do, we will update you here.
Multiple video areas38 votes
Can you add the options to schedule a show every: hour, quarter and/or every ... minutes.
We like to show a standard show which will be overruled by a dedicated show every ´x´ minutes. Now we can't use the scheduler for that.
Thanks in advance.64 votes
This is indeed in our plans. We will add support for recurrence in hours and minutes. Thank you for your suggestion!
Capacity to add multiple links of youtube at once and/ or use youtube channels with list of videos13 votes
Currently, we have no way to know that what the users has specified can indeed be fitted on the SD card storage. Providing an easy way to add tens or hundreds of YouTube videos, would probably cause issues. But we are looking into it and we will probably provide this in the near future.
Ability to post videos that are on FB - the webpage option doesn't work for FB videos. YouTube video links work perfectly.4 votes
We have not made any tests with Facebook videos. We will have to look into it in more detail.
Sometime, you do something and "Submit to Players?" turns red. And you log in a few days later, feeling nervous about what you actually did and why that button is red. It would be great if you could undo all the changes made on an account and revert it back to the last time the "Push to Players?" button was clicked, so it would "put out" the red button.
Initial Idea Submitted was: "Trash option for deleted media, playlist and shows. It gives the oportunity to restore back links which you delete accidentally."5 votes
While the initial idea of a trash bin for object is difficult to implement and has several implications, the current idea is very useful and will provide an extra level of safety for what is displayed on screen.
Also, it will eliminate the need for the automated email that are send to users leaving the “Push to Players?” button unclicked.
Would like to have a display set up in a waiting room playing a standard general show. But, when a new client arrives would like to "push a button" and have a more detailed show played. It could simply be a predefined named show and GPIO pin to initiate it. Schedule could be set to "Manual".20 votes
idea: if you have multiple monitors, it would be great to see the last screenshot in the Monitorslist4 votes
We will add this, it is really useful. Check out also another feature request for a special multi-view of all screenshots in a single screen.
An overall dashboard showing all thumbnails from all devices would be great. It would provide a quick view if devices show what they are supposed to show.3 votes
Am new with Yodeck but I would like to see either faster loading of new/changed content over typical client wifi speeds OR some way to blank the screen while new imagery is loaded. My experience so far (limited I admit) leads me to think my shows are amateurish when I have to look at periods where things are sequentially being blacked out and sequentially replaced.Makes me think of the old days when things like this were really slow. Surely there is a better way in 2018.4 votes
I guess you are talking about transition from one show to another. This will be significantly improve really soon. We are working on an improved version of the playback engine that will allow much faster transitions.
Stay tuned to see it get released!
X86 Support1 vote
We supported x86 until Jan 2017. Adoption was really, really low, since a) we provide the Player for free to direct customers, and b) using the Raspberry Pi saves you so much on electricity, recovering the cost of the RPi within a couple of years.
We are planning to develop soon an HTML5-based player, so this could be easily wrapped to work on x86 hardware.
Stay tuned for updates.
